My Marriage Ended

I nearly lost the cat I had raised for six years. The doctor said it had ingested something harmful. But my husband was certain it was just the cat getting old, its stomach unable to handle much anymore. The next day, after my prenatal checkup, I stopped by my husband's office for lunch. I walked in at the perfect moment—just as I caught him cheating with his secretary. "She won't come looking for trouble, right?" "Well, it's just an animal. Even if it dies, what can she do about it?" That's when I realized. He was unhappy with me raising a cat during my pregnancy, and had deliberately fed it expired cat treats. That was what nearly caused the tragedy.
