I Rejected My Alpha Mate, Then Remarried The Rival King

On my twenty-fourth birthday, my Mate, Roy, promised me a gift that would make the entire Pack jealous. The celebration had barely begun when he had a servant wheel out a velvet gift box. Everyone started chanting my name. My heart pounded as I stared at the box. I thought this was finally it—that he was about to announce that I, his Fated Mate, would become his Luna. But the servant pushed the gift right past me... and stopped in front of Ruby, standing beside Roy. Ruby gasped, covering her mouth in delight before opening the box in front of everyone. "Alpha Roy, thank you so much for the gift!" Roy didn't deny it. He simply glanced at me and said flatly, "Don't overthink it. Ruby just came back. I'm only making her feel welcome." The room erupted in laughter. Everyone assumed the gift had always been meant for Ruby. I was nothing more than an extra invited to fill the background. Inside me, my wolf, Lyra, slammed against my chest in fury. Strangely enough, I became perfectly calm. They all thought I would be the one humiliated tonight. What they didn't know... ...was that I was about to say the words "I reject you." And when the begging started— it wouldn't be me.
