I Severed Our Mate Bond After His Betrayal

The night I was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a silver needle, Alpha Jax stood beside my bed with his old flame, Lila, in his arms, forcing me to sign a Mate Rejection. “Just sign it. Lila’s pregnant. The family can’t let a Luna who can no longer shift keep the title.” I was burning with fever, my entire body trembling, the metallic taste of blood thick in my throat. Because one day earlier, I had been the one who took that silver needle for him. I was the one whose wolf had been wounded so badly that she had fallen dormant—and who might never be able to shift again. But when he returned, the first thing he did wasn’t check my wound. It was petition the elders to sever our mate bond. Lila even bent down, brushed her fingers over the old Mark on my neck, and smiled. “Jax has a soft heart. Behave yourself, and he’ll give you a very generous settlement.” I laughed and took the rejection papers. I was done with this mate.
