My Werewolf Alpha Fiancé Chose His Fake Mate Over Me

The night before the marking ceremony, my mate Liam handed me a pairing agreement. "After the marking, all assets, territory, and inheritance rights remain non-shared; the Luna holds no joint claim." I hadn't even gotten a laugh out before the second clause turned my stomach. "Regarding all protection, gifts, and living arrangements provided by Liam Cole to Lila Cruz, Lucia Gallo shall have no right to question, to hold him accountable, or to make public." I looked up at him, my throat going tight. "Who's Lila?" Liam's tone was calm. "My secretary—the false mate my wolf misidentified once. Don't make a scene." I flipped to the appendix, and my fingertips went cold in an instant. So it wasn't that he was afraid I'd take a cut of the Shadowmere Pack's holdings. He'd even arranged, down to the last detail, whose scent I'd have to live breathing in after the marking. I slapped the agreement back against his chest and heard my wolf, Nyx, snarling low and furious in my bones. "Liam, tomorrow's marking ceremony is off."
