Silver Creek's Seventh Stray

I was the worthless Omega Damon Blackwood picked up beside a dumpster. Everyone in town knew he only kept me around because my scent was the one thing that could calm the rabid wolf inside him. The night his first love was bonded to someone else, I pushed open the study door--and found a silver knife pressed to his heart. I didn't stop him. I just tilted my head and asked sweetly, "Damon, Lucas said he wants to leave a mark on my neck. What does that mean?" The knife hit the floor with a clang. His eyes went red. His voice shook. "You let him bite you?" I nodded. By the next morning, all of Silver Creek was talking: that sick Alpha had finally lost it, and he was tearing through town hunting down the Vega family's youngest son.
